We have worked with and endorse Dave Gardner at Magneto Mastering. Dave is not satisfied with his master until you are, and he rates are excellent.

If you're talking about vinyl mastering, the folks at Y-Mixx did an excellent job on our latest album.

This is, of course, if you're looking to consider additional options. Mr. Weston will certainly be seeing some work from us in the future.

I've done several records at expensive places (and they were good) but I'd rank anything done at Goosman's at the top of the list. He's got a super ear and usually very fast turnaround times (for digital projects, sometimes a few days). Will be sending him another vinyl project within the next few months!Saff is a great option to have too, though I haven't personally worked with him since back when he was a 'guy with a computer'.

Are you having Carl cut the lacquers as well?

Thread resurrection (I'm all over that search function!)!Been chatting to Carl Saff this evening about doing the mastering for my next record. I'm finally accepting my ears are too far gone and this will be the first time I've farmed the job out. I see someone above recommends - anyone else had experience with Carl?I love what he did on Kowloon Walled City's record last year, and he also did an Angry Gods release that sounds good too.I considered Bob or Shelley over at CMS but, well, the band's budget isn't massive and Carls rates are half the price! Thanks to stupid fucking Brexit the pound is basically worthless so the pressing is gonna be more anyway, so the mastering budget is lower too.

Thanks guys.I've been spending the last few hours trawling Carls back-catalogue and have subsequently booked in a slot with him. The price he's given me is great, and I like his work. His busy work-load means that there'll be a few weeks added on to my original time frame but, if anything, it'll stop me rushing my mixes. I've just looked at Chris Goosman's rates, yeah, for my digital-only side stuff, he could well be an option in the future...always nice to have options The way the is, BW would cost me 900, Carl is nearer 300 - that's a sizeable difference this close to Xmas!
