I'm just goofin'. There was a thing a while back where the US broker for GZ got busted sending the plant MP3's of peoples masters for pressing, which didn't go over well.

Thanks for the kind words, folks!Carl and Bob are friends of mine and also very capable dudes with great ears.In regards to sending lacquers to GZ: good luck! They were very evasive when I had a client want to do that, to the point of suggesting that the chances were very high that there would be a problem with them. It very much felt like "Nice lacquers. It would be a shame if anything happened to them."

I did not know Carl Saff, Masterer, was in Pencil. Neat. I believe I saw them in that year, 1994, Milwaukee, maybe with Mule

Well, I sent the final mixes off tonight to Carl Saff. We shall see.Fingers-crossed my mixes don't suck and I have to re-do any/all of them!!

What a bastard!yeah that is some crazy shit! jeez, we go to the trouble of making special hi-res masters for the vinyl and that's what we get....anyway carl did a few records for me back when i used to mix, they turned out great and he was a pleasure to work with.

I've mastered several records w/ Saff, and sent several other friends his way. Totally great experience every time.Burn Permits mastered with Goosman and it was a great experience as well!Never been in a band with the funds/need to go with CMS, but I've never heard of anyone having a bad experience with Bob, Barnheart, Shelley, or anyone else cutting there.Basically, I can't imagine mastering with someone besides Saff, Goosman, or CMS, unless someone else was gonna pay for Abbey Road or something.
