So this is really good information but argh:A smaller tranny with less turns favours the high frequency response.Hah. It bothered me too. You're not alone. I wish less people would make that mistake. <--- deliberate joke.

I'm more annoyed by it sometimes meaning transistor. Too confusing.Having said that, pup for pickup has always annoyed me. As far as cutesy nicknames are concerned, Sammy for sandwich and humbuggy for humbucker both drive me fucking nuts.

Brain Dump!Been working this one in small little bursts when I have time. Replaced some caps and solved the bias issue. Now when I get it up to full tilt its loud and roars, but its not long before it blows the fuse (either playing or a idle) and i've traced the problem down to one EL34 socket. I'll replace that soon and we'll see how it fairs. Also, jut to keep it simple i've only been dealing with the "Rock" channel for now. Figure i'll get that one cleared and then move along to "Jazz".

Fuckin A....the work on this amp has been a back burner project ever since I got it. Work on it when I can, order new parts when its convenient, etc. Its finally fixed/modded/kicking ass and it somehow doesnt fit in the head cab anymore! I dont remember it being hard to get out of the cab, though that was a while ago. And the cab always did look a little warped in the middle of the top but it must be worse now because nothing fits. The front plate is 9 1/16" tall and the edges of the cab have that much clearance but the middle is about 3/16" too short. So right now I have some splints in there propping the warped top up to the proper dimension, hoping that after a bit itll coax back into shape. We'll see if that works...hopefully I dont have to build a new cab.

Other thought: could you make a back panel for the amp that provides some structural support and pushes the bent top closer to where it should be? Does that suggestion make sense?Well....there is a back panel that would do that, but it doesnt currently fit because of the warped top. Plus i'd still need to get the chassis into the head shell before I can even put the back on.Wonder if I can introduce some bend with heat? Like turn it upside down and put an iron on it or something. Ya think?
