An old friend of mine who has excellent tone and taste and who also used to employ an 8x10 Ampeg fridge and GK800RB, swears by his 2x12 TC electronics cab and TC head. I"m skeptical, but i'll get to jam with him over the holidays and hear for myself.

OK Dietz people. I need some advice. My bass player and I expressed our undying love by making matching cabs. We did 2 TL606 cabs for him, and two 2x12 TL806 cabs for me. We added some wood to make them match, so that when stacked, it looks like just a big block of wood. I'll take pictures this week, it's pretty rad (yet heavy). This way each side of the stage has a 1x15 (bass) and a 2x12 (guitar). So here' s my query. Were using eminence delta 15as for the 1x15s. I was going to use eminence delta 12s for the guitar cabs. I started thinking last night that maybe I should mix the speakers up a bit. Like do the Delta 12s in one cab, and another speaker set in the other cabinet, just for tonal variety. Any thoughts on this? Warehouse speakers makes a 30 watt and 50 watt 55hz resonance 12" speaker (the "reaper" speaker), and I was curious how it would sound to use a 50 watt version of this in one set of the 2x12s. For reference, I use a tele with BLK/TRI pickups into a boxidizer, into a V4. I tune FACGCD, and we do what all old men in their early 40s do, we play mathy post-hardcore type stuff. I'll post cab pictures this weekend, they came out really nice. Any thoughts on speaker selection? Thanks in advance.

Hey, so I just picked up another Road Ready Mesa 1x15 yesterday. It's a cab with the casters on the port side, instead of on the side like the one I've owned for the last decade.BUT, there are a bunch of other little differences, so I'm thinking Mesa did some design changes on the Road Ready cabs at some point? There isn't a lot of official Mesa info out there on the Road Ready and Diesel cabs, but maybe someone is aware of these? My guess is the cab I just got is older, maybe the first version of the Road Ready, as some of the changes seem like they could have saved costs.Here are the two cabs, one I just got on the left in the foreground:Differences:Vertical cab has a grill with diamond shapes (only seen them on Diesel 4x12 and 2x12s before); horizontal has squares.Vertical cab has Mesa branded handles; horizontal just has regular black hands with no brand.Vertical cab has extra wood framing on the baffle to create space between the grill & speaker; horizontal has rubber pieces that the grill screws into.Vertical cab surface is "rougher"; horizontal is totally smooth.

Here's some differences off the top of my head:Older one has rectangular sheet metal logo. Newer has/had die-cut logo.Both have rubber feet on caster side. Older also has rubber feet on longer dimensional side (can't confirm if those were stock or owner-added).Older has pop in caster mounts. Newer has Mesa-proprietary "trak-loc" caster mounts.Older has small plastic jack cup. Newer has larger rectangular metal jack plate a/la Avatar-style.Both have square grill grid.I think the carry handles are slightly different too, but I'll have to get back to you on that.The road ready cabs had a removable flat side that covered the grill. I had a friend that still had his. Most are missing.

Thanks in advance.I just got the new Eminence EM12 which is supposed to be a closer speaker to the EVM 12L than the DeltaPro... I haven't listened yet. but it looks nice. I tried the Weber Michigan way back. It was close to the EVM but more mids, not as much clarity... more "guitary"
