Not crap. Played at 4AM at Primavera Sound and were fantastic. Album is one of my favourite from this year.

A direct hit, some days I only want to listen to songs like this.phpBB [media]

I saw them open for Deerhoof in Kzoo a few years ago. I don't recall them having very good sound, but I remember enjoying their performance nonetheless (and their gear - something sweet about an SG into an old Twin). I still haven't checked out their studio stuff. Maybe I should do that.

After mentioning them in another another thread, I noticed they put out a new album a few months ago. Definitely more eclectic, but leaning heavily on early 80s post punk & new wave sounds: anything from Psychedelic Furs to Duran Duran. Not everything works (a dance punk song that sounds a little too "circa 2002") but some of it is very catchy. The singer is captivating in a Debbie Harry way (yes.. in that way too). Not Crap! It's hitting me just right right now.(waffles: millennials have -the worst- taste in snare sounds..)

They certainly nail the sort of 80s post punk/dancey sound as you say. I feel like they'd be fun live.
