That area will be highlighted. You can finesse the highlighted area with the handles that appear in the timeline at the top if for example you actually want to start a half second later. You can also zoom in to make sure you're seeing a more precise point in time. When you export (ctrl+alt+r), at the top of that window you'll see drop down options to define your export: the first is Source (you probably want the master mix) and the second is Bounds. Set Bounds time selection and it will export the area you highlighted. Alternately, you could set the Bounds to Custom time range and enter the start and stop points manually if you like numbers or are blind. One other way to highlight a time selection: put a marker at the beginning and end points in the song. Click in between the 2 markers (by which I mean specifically in between the 2 marker flags with numbers that are in a separate strip above the timeline, not anywhere else) and the area between them will be highlighted and can be exported. I also figured out the fades on an individual track, so I can ease in a guitar or whatever- but doing a stereo fade of the whole song?Generally this is done on each individual track, since different instruments will have different decays. If you wanted to you could automate the master fader, but that's probably only going to lead to frustration when Eric farts or stops holding a note or whatever while you're still chiming out at the end of a song. Or when he is tuning underneath your intro. Or when he is doing any of the things he does while not playing.
