Speaker Suggestions for the Traynor TS Series?

I'm thinking EVMs would probably not fit in these combos, which tend to be pretty shallow. But yeah it really depends on what you want. In my experience with these combos the stock speakers sound kind of dark and flabby, which isn't always bad: can work for low volume recording and whatnot. A friend put a 60w Weber (Chicago, maybe) in his TS 50 and I liked that combination. Fit that amp well tonally, though a little inefficient/underpowered for certain things.

I recently acquired a Traynor TS100 2x12 combo. I've used Traynor TS25's as bedroom/practice amps here and there and every single one has benefited from a speaker swap. Unfortunately, they have just been given hand me downs or whatever raw speaker I happened to have laying around.I would like to be a little more respectful and swap the speaker with something that might actually specifically flatter the amp for once but I am unsure of where to begin. I know that these were once relatively popular amps here, have you any of you guys found a speaker that seemed to work well with any of the 12" TS series?Oh, and quick TS100 side question. The left channel has a "Normal" input and a second jack beneath it labeled "Out". Is the "Out" jack just a front mounted Line Out?

How do you like the EVM compared the stock (or any other) speaker that you have tried in there?elisha wiesner wrote:Enormous wrote:Quick side question, how close is the Boxidizer to the TS preamp? Is it a literal exact copy or just inspired by? It's crazy close. I'd be totally happy using my Boxidizer and a power amp. Thanks man, I think that's where I'll end up going. Maybe with a tube power amp, could be interesting? Maybe?
