A recent discovery after finding a few LPs in a bargin bin. After a search I couldn't find Moon Martin listed around here. Although his output is quite a mixed bag, he's a classic example where his songs became hits for other artists (notably 'Bad Case of Loving You' for Robert Palmer). I've been into Willy/Mink Deville for years, but never realised both 'Cadillac Walk' and 'Rolene' were also both Moon Martin covers.Appearances shouldn't matter in music, but I also like the fact that - image wise - he's something of a square peg with his bowl haircut and overstated spectacles running somewhat counter to the music he's making. Beyond that, he also seems to have earned his stripes by grafting away in bands and playing a lot on the road (a-la Cheap Trick).
