My MIJ early 90's '62 P-Bass. First bass I ever bought when I started playing bass in 2003, it's been on almost every record I've made. Totally beat to hell, and I really need to replace the electronics and throw a Fralin or Lollar in there.Travis Bean TB2000. Only got this two years ago, but it's the only bass I've played since then. Sounds amazing, plays great, already was pretty worn and I've only put more wear into it. I used to say I'd never sell my EGC bass w/ the TB2000 style body, but this bass ALMOST makes me tempted to sell the EGC.'64 AA864 Bassman. Best clean sounding guitar amp I've played through, and it's FANTASTIC with bass into a 1x15. Bass channel modded so it's closer to a MV Marshall, so I could reasonably get by if I sold my JMP 2204 and JTM45.Ben Adrian Kowloon Walled Bunny & Ratmussen. Awesome pedals made by an awesome dude who doesn't make 'em anymore. The only pedals that I wouldn't part with.I own lots of other rad stuff, but it's either reasonably replaceable or I don't have much sentimental value attached to it.

1978 Les Paul Custom w/ Lollar p90Resonates more than any guitar I've had, came fucked up enough that I don't care what else I do to it. Keeley Modded RATBest rat! It's just the best rat. Bought it thinking I was just buying a rat. It's the best rat though!Garnet Rebel PA90Modded with all channels together - I keep comparing this to other things and I always come back to it - dirty, heavy, great sustain, I hug it on a regular basis. Sovtek Mig50h First tube amp I ever bought; Shipped from EA to an 18 year old in Sudbury Ontario, this amp was life changing and convinced us all there was no going back. Felt like I was one big step closer to doing whatever the Stooges did (I'm still not). Darkest amp in the world, still sounds great and my spouse has since claimed it forever.'64 Bassmanbest feedback I've ever heard, great low end.Marshall 1960BX 4x12 Cab I've had forever. If feels worn in and nothing else sounds right.I don't mind selling the JMP1978 P-Bass My first bass where the neck stayed put - sounds good through anything and it's the bass sound I've always loved. My one and only bass

I have way more crap than anyone needs and certainly more than my talent or skill warrant. That being said I have three instruments I will never sell. ¢ ˜83 Japanese made Squier Precision Bass - I got this 15+ years ago when I was living in Austin and dirt poor. It was maybe $200 and I couldn t afford it but I guess I went without food for a week or something. To this day I haven t played another P-bass that has that same combination of body, clarity and midrange bark. I have put it head to head with vintage p-basses and custom shop models and everything in between and it has never left me wanting. I ve put it through a drop ceiling. Thrown it across stages. All I ve ever had to do is replace a crapped out jack and volume pot. ¢ ˜66 Epiphone Cortez - Small bodied acoustic that sat for months at my neighborhood guitar shop. I d go in every week and play it and wonder if I was crazy or if everyone else was crazy for not snagging it. I even took friends up there with me to listen to it. I had a great sounding acoustic before but compared to the little Cortez it was like night and day. Traded in my old guitar and threw a little cash in and I have had it ever since. I always say it s the one I grab first if there s a house fire. Still have the same strings on it 8+ years later and I swear it just keeps sounding better. ¢ 1992 Rickenbacker 360v64/12 - I always wanted a Rickenbacker 12 string but they always seemed like a luxury I simply could not justify. Not terribly long after my son was born my friend who worked at the afore mentioned neighborhood guitar shop sent me some cellphone pics of it in the work bench because he knew I always had a thing for electric 12s. I showed it to my dad and was talking about how cool they were but how it never seemed like something I could justify. For weeks I ogled that guitar until one day my father seemingly out of the blue said œYou know your mother and I never really ever bought you a guitar or anything. You always saved your money and traded in your old gear to get a new pedal or amp. I d like to buy that guitar for you, on one condition: it stays in the family. It will be your son s one day if he wants it. So yeah, can t sell that one!

My dad played guitar and I borrowed stuff from him and his friends for a while, so I don t necessarily have that ˜first guitar sort of attachment, but I can t imagine selling my EGC Standard or Balls AC30. They re relatively new acquisitions but I do feel sort of sentimental about them. Other stuff that isn t practical to sell because on paper it looks like the worst deal ever but are way more awesome than anyone would likely value them for is my hacked up vintage Guild Starfire and an Epiphone Coronet with the finish rubbed off that I had to get a refret for. I also really like my heavily modded 50s Gibson GA6. Any my Garnet Pro w/Stinger is too weird to let loose, too.

I am famously unsentimental with music gear (famously!) but:Chris Jury Telecaster baritone.TL606 cabinet I built with my dad.MIJ '72 Telecaster and SF Vibro Champ, passed down from a relative. If I got it from a store or the classifieds, it'll probably get exchanged for something else down the line. But these I will keep.
