1984 JCM 800 100W

Yup. That's pretty much a 50 or 100 watt JMP with a facelift (Usually w/ EL 34's). I prefer the older face...They're out there.
800's sound great w/ 6550's.
The good Marshalls are really just the Fender Bassman's little brothers. But little brother went to the gym more.
I had a great Bandmaster, but I kept blowing it up, awww...Still, a great first amp, even if I did miss the thrill of owning a Peavy.

I have the 100 late 70s jmp, EL34EH- i have the mid-two tubes removed adn run my 8ohm 4x12 at 4 ohms.. and NO PEDALS DAMN IT- one 18" cable
master at 5-6, pre at 6-10 yummy. Angus tone!

500 bucks? If you like the way it sounds and it's in good shape (i.e. it works), buy it. You'll wanna ask him if he's done any maintenance on it; if not, you'll probably want to replace the filter caps and have the power tubes tested. That said, that's a pretty good price for that era head and cab.
