Not the biggest fan of The Wickerman, so at first glance I was all up in something or another, but it is such a badass poster - and knowing the gloom Aster is capable of - I am ultimately charmed by it. Supposedly this is his last horror film. I bet he'd do something ghostly spectacularly. I'd trust him with an American remake of Lake Mungo. That movie fucking rules. There should never be an American remake, but if there were, Aster all the way.

I've been on a kick re-reading Stephen King books from when I was a kid. And am finding them very different than I remember. I'm thinking doing a dive this spring/summer where I watch the movies I have not seen on his "Top 100 movie list" from Danse Macabre (https://www.imdb.com/list/ls051798053/). Anyone worked their way through it?

Last Summer is probably Frank Perry's least seen film (after Ladybug, Ladybug), but I'm glad it's on the Stephen King list. They did dilute/edit a scene to get rid of an X rating, but it's still a great movie. I never saw the X rated version. I doubt it exists on dvd or BluRay. They used to play Last Summer late on TCM. Frank Perry's wife Eleanor wrote the screenplay. She was one of the first feminists to rip on Hollywood. And I Saw What You Did seems like a William Castle corny movie, but it's really good.
