^ hmm. I played with the freeze first in the chain and last in the chain. Maybe this happened when placing it first. That's probably it. It's been years. Maybe it wasn't the volume as much as what might have gotten notched out of the freeze signal making it sound odd. It's hard to remember, but playing big clean notes was really rewarding.

Yes the Freeze will do this. But if it is $$$$ then the Game Changer Audio Plus pedal is mega $$$$. Yet it seems like the best game in town. I think Fender made this ugly green volume style pedal that did a feedback effect. It is hard to find info on however.

I don't know if it has been mentioned but if you have a boss delay - dd-6 or dd-20 you can use the Warp feature (you might want to add a compressor before and a reverb after to smooth) to take and sustain a note. On all other Boss digital delays you could use the "HOLD" feature where you make a short sample and hold the sustained note (the trick is to keep the beginning and end equal in volume so it sounds the same hence the compressor). then you would make the loop in the looper after it. On all boss Digital Delay Units you can also play over the top of the top of the sustained note with just that unit. You just have to set the knobs up right on the hold the balance on the Warp it is a bit less strait forward. Most people don't explore these modes on them much. I don't know if I would go out and buy one for this feature, unless you try one out and think it is doing what you want first. But it would be one of the first things I would go to as I have them.One of the issues with feedback is that it usually for me takes place between the interaction of the guitar its volume and the amp and its volume and my position relative to the amp. Not so much within my effects run. If you want this kind of feedback I might recommend that you record it on you phone and use one of the basic looper apps and feed that recording into your looper pedal. My looper has a bunch of preset recording spots where your pre recorded loop is recorded into a slot and your can select it and the looper plays it as opposed to doing it on the fly during performance. You could easily also use a mike and DAW for this also. With most loops I make, they usually benefit from fairly precise editing the a and b points, which is more easily done looking at the wave. But on the fly looping and SOS playing is a lot of fun.

EHX Freeze can be found for like $80.Can you tweak the delay time down on the hold mode of the DD-6? I used to do that with my old DD-3, where the delay time knob was acting like the maximum time of the audio in the hold buffer. Or maybe it acts like the DD-5 and it is a matter of how long your foot is held down, maybe try a quick stomp.

I know that we've discussed it upthread, and it's way out of your price range, but that Gamechanger Plus Pedal literally does exactly what you're looking to do. It even softens the edges of the loop note so the drone is pretty seamless. You can also stack up to five drone notes, and even subtract them with light presses of the ducknose. Quick slam down on it, and it does an all-off. You can also get cool flutters in the loop depending on how you're playing when you engage it.Amazing build quality. Lovely and intuitive musical feel to how you play it, too. It is wholly unlike any other pedal I've played, looper or otherwise. Caught it on a discount when I got it back in October, so I splurged for the wet switch, but haven't spent much time with that part yet. A+ on the Plus. If you have the means, I can't recommend it much more.
