33Came here to post this. That is a fucking jam and I've got it on repeat. I'm getting Pop Group vibes.

34Was I the only one who had to listen to it a couple of times to get what was goin on rhythmically?

37This fucking band! What a good song! Erica Dunn has quickly become one my favorite guitarists. The new single drops on my birthday too.Dave N. wrote:Was I the only one who had to listen to it a couple of times to get what was goin on rhythmically? You were not.

Loose and jangly in a sort of Nuggets / Flying Nun sense, but at times way more feral and unhinged than Mod Con gets. Summery but full of dread.

39Confusingly, there's also a cryptic Bandcamp label page where you can order the LP. (Even more confusingly, there's an entirely unrelated Poor People from Brisbane.) I've been digging this for a few months without realizing it had gotten a physical release, but now the wax is on the way. I could listen to Erica Dunn howl X, Y, Z, FUCK YOOOOOOUUUUUU! all day long. More like this, please. (Isn't it "zed", though?)Palm Springs is quite nice too, especially the release from last November. Harmony is an interesting idea but hasn't clicked for me yet, though I suspect it's just a matter of time, since these Tropical Fuckers seem to have the golden touch. (See also: Lauren Hammel's pretty legit stoner-metal-core band High Tension.) Then there's the Steve Miller Band (no, not that one). I shit-posted a video over here that is kind of amazing. Sounds like you had to be there, but I wish I had been.I'm looking forward to more MOD CON (or however it's supposed to be stylized) as much as I'm looking forward to the new TFS record. Which is rather a lot.

I dig Mod Con a lot and I've spent some time checking out a couple of her other bands, Harmony and Palm Springs which are both good but I haven't done a deep dive on them yet. Are there yet more Erica Dunn bands to explore?
