I've bought 3 outstanding '70s Premier kits in my life. The most expensive one was $225. Although, I haven't priced out 3 mini high heels yet, so the cost of this new kit might really soar, depending on what the Italians are offering this season. Something mincing but not completely blazed would probably go well with the diamond chrome lugs.

Drummer in my band is looking at getting one, would love to know if anyone here has anything good or bad to say about them!CHRIS, I HAVE SOME THOUGHTS.The pros - seamless! Seamless acrylic drums always look rad and there's an implication that they are stronger than acrylic drums with seams. Also, the cost isn't too bad, considering how overpriced DW stuff can be.The cons - Fairly limited sizes. Granted, you could make the same case for Vistalites, but man, that standard five-piece set-up with 10 and 12 toms AND a kick drum that's 18 deep? Get real. For real, a 22 with an 18 depth is just like what the fuck, man, like, just COME ON, 14 DEEP IS THE IDEAL KICK DRUM DEPTH DON'T REINVENT THE GODDAMN WHEEL MAN FUCK. Then again, I saw the other kit your drummer is selling had some fusion-y type sizes, so that might be in his wheelhouse. I will also say I'm a little skeptical of the STM mounts on the rack toms as I always tried to limit the amount of contact hardware had on an acrylic shell, and the STM does the polar opposite of that. One could argue that the additional hardware maybe helps to balance that out and that by splitting it across multiple points of contact evens that stress out. I'm not truly convinced either way. Also, the bass drum mounts I see on that kit make me nervous.Let me ask you (or your drummer) this - why acrylic? Is it tone? Price? Looks? These are all totally valid reasons to want to go that way, but there's a variety of ways to go (and the DWs certainly aren't the worst way.)

Mine are going back to Florida and my money will be coming back to Chicago. As a lover of musical instruments, especially those with some antiquity, it saddens me that these drums were beaten with sticks for almost 50 years and could've gone another 50, but 2 days with FedEx was just too much to ask.Grabbed these early '70s Gretsch drums for $480 instead. 24 kick, 13 and 14 rack toms, 16 and 18 floor toms and 5 x 14 snare. I have trouble tuning 18 floor toms so they sound good to me but they're still fun. They were owned by the guy in the upper left hand corner of this photo. He died recently and the guitar player (all the way to the right) sold them to me and showed me their old promo picture. They played around Aurora, Illinois all through the '70s, had a lot of fun. Good for them. Awesome band photo.
