I've admittedly paid little attention to the race but I'm surprised that PRF was nearly 100% for Preckwinkle, as it seemed like she was a product of the machine that has dominated Chicago politics. Could very well have been a media misperception but I'm curious why most folks didn't vote for Lightfoot. Firefox says "misperception" isn't a word, well I'm sticking with it...

And this morning it was reported that she wants the city to spend less money paying settlements for bad cops. But how this will all play out, and what this really means, is yet to be determined.I'm fairly convinced she's going to focus on thwarting lawsuits and reducing payout to deserving people instead of focusing on putting more of the onus on the bad cops and reducing bad cops.
