Everytime I see this thread I just think'how do people actually manage to be any kind of fat at all?'eating is a downright hassle. it's expensive, it's time consumptive, it's boring, it involves a lot of talking to lame waitresses and cashiers and clerks... there is nothing enjoyable about eating food beyond the absolute essential thing of killing the stomache-eating-itself feeling for another day and feeling grateful there was anything there to really hit the spot at all in the first place. there are so many other things to be doing with your time, ya know, and eating is just not all that particularly enjoyable. so imhe, im always bewildered by 'weight' problems. I've no idea how people even manage to get that way.

Not at all. All I needed was to stop eating crap. And adjust when and what to eat.At the very start I went super low on the kcal intake and super high on protein intake, to lose as much water as possible, and to jump start the lipolisys. I kept my carbs low, with healthy fats introduced from the start. Gradually, I have started incorporating bread, but I bake it myself. That's the only carbs I eat regularly now, with occasional potatoes and rice. And bananas. And apples.I have one big bowl of salad a day. I eat a lot of tomatoes with it.I never felt like I was starving. When I got my insulin under control, my cravings, if they were ever there, went away. It's really remarkable how you can manipulate your body (and mind) with the stuff that you put inside your mouth. The biggest effort from the start was keeping a journal. I had to force myself to check into an app my every meal. This was more exhausting than the actual dieting. Also, I have a fairly masculine/big boned body from my playing days so my basal metabolism is a bit higher than your avg joe.Sometimes I do a fast here and there, on purpose. I mostly have a 14-10 eating pattern. I go 16-8 when I know I have done a poor job for a few days in a row.I have a pizza now, from time to time. I drink beer with joy. My wife and I go out to eat burgers and fries once a week. I eat (dark) chocolate too. I have a healthy relationship with food now. I did not have it before. If anyone wants to fire away with questions about my stuff, fire away. I have my food logs in myfitnesspal app too. I can send those if someone shows me how, too.

^excellent.Seriously, I was chronically underweight until I was 23 when medication caused my appetite to increase drastically. I think it also made it easier to put on pounds and harder to lose them. Every medication change came with 5-20 pounds of gain. Not always having food around the last year DOES NOT help lose weight unless you can carefully control what you eat. It sucks.
