Just got new ones.I switched from the 25dB filters to solid filters halfway thru last tour. Don't miss the high end with Sunn, and the extra 5dB of attenuation helps. You can get them online in various places.Did you have a custom mold done from an audiologist first, or did you just get a generic mold from them?

You've prompted me to apply for the Musician's Union scheme in the UK where you can get a full hearing exam and moulded plugs for 40 total. Suddenly got the fear about standing in front of an HH and a Twin for a month every night, never mind 15 full stacks. Cheers!

IANFMTM but:Those Sensaphonics are great. I had the -15db filters for years, moved up to the -25db ones when I lost most of the high end hearing in my left ear last summer.I had them on my keys, stupidly lost them on the bus a couple months ago, and just got a pair of Westones with a -25db filter. The old ones were ~6 years old, so this mold seems better, but the filters don't seem like they attenuate quite as much as the Sensaphonics. If you play loud music and/or go to shows regularly, you should absolutely get custom plugs. With my hearing loss, I can't do anything live music related unless I'm wearing those. The new ones I got were ~$250 all together, well worth and I think a lot of shows honestly sound BETTER with them in than out.

I plug it up religiously at other people's shows and maybe half the time at practice. Was all the time, but the new band is not as loud.I can't do it playing live if I am singing. But there's no option to using plugs onstage in Sunn, other than losing your hearing.tallchris wrote:I think a lot of shows honestly sound BETTER with them in than out.Best plug sound is plugging one's ears with fingers, I think.

Or does everyone go off just stage volume?Monitors are mostly for keyboard and trombone. I sometimes get some of Stephen's guitar in mine.
