Sounds like I have a fine PRF friend helping with the making of a digital version of the school logo. I will make a screen of the logo for the front of the shirts, and a another for the 'Tshunkunyane Primary School' on the back (local language is Zulu). School colors are not a thing there, as the jerseys they use are leftovers from a local Seattle area league- but a discussion w/ the headmaster, Mr. Mgune, helped us settle on royal blue w/ Gray. The plan is to start with hand-screening 50 shirts, which we think we can sell for maybe $15 each. I don't keep screen burning equipment or chemicals on hand, since I wouldn't need them very often- so I think I'm looking at like $30 each for 2 screens to be made (I have a ton of clean screens from a print shop that went out of business). And probably $125 for 50 royal blue shirts and $30 for decent gray ink. So total outlay for initial startup is like $215-ishIf it goes well, we will make more. Sadly, the realities of moving things into and out of Zimbabwe mean it is unlikely the kids at the school will actually ever get a shirt. Update on the big picture, actually building an extension to the school: Government inspectors gave a thumbs up to the footings poured by the parents. Foundations are planned. All building in this part of the world is done w/ cinder blocks, and our goal is to buy as many of those as we can for the school. Will decide on doing/not doing a gofundme for the startup costs- Opinions?
