Audiobook Recommendations
1I used to give my friend so much shit for listening to these and not reading books, then I got a smart phone and a desk job and a long commute. So, Audible recommendations?I ll only mention a few to start that have fantastic narration:Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers. Read wonderfully by Robert Forster, who does a great job of giving it a very noir feel. It s sci-fi but don t let that turn you off. The Largesse Of The Sea Maiden by Denis Johnson. It starts off slow, but I can t tell you how many time I ve gone back and listened to Michael Shannon s excellent reading of Starlight On Idaho. Have never done that with an audiobook before. Crushing! The Hard Stuff by Wayne Kramer. Brother Wayne narrates!I couldn t stand the audiobook of Lincoln In The Bardo. I can handle shit like that on a page but In was obnoxious in this format.
