Havent played one myself but the layout is AC30TB adjacent but without the cathode follower (which is also kinda Bassman/Marshall-y without the cathode follower and negative feedback). Curious how that works out with/without the cathode follower....Tommy wrote:Dr Tony Balls wrote:Got a new donor cab and chassis the other day. 1x12 cab. Chassis will support 2 power tubes. EL84s will fit, potentially 6V6 or EL34 but nothing wider than that. Chassis will cleanly support up to 5 knobs. What should go in it?Already got one vote for a Silvertone 1482/Tweed Deluxe type of thing but i'm entertaining ideas. 20W bassman/plexi/JTM? AC15 kinda thing? There are so many possibilities. As always, gonna put my vote in for Brown Deluxe.Always doable. With the trem or without? Could be a sweet two-knob jam.

Oh and bypass for the FAC, which I think the original did not provide.Problem there is that, to my knowledge, there isnt one specific GRO schematic. I've seen them with the FAC at the input, and others with the FAC and volume between the first two gain stages but before the tone stack. The latter is I think more common but who knows. Both are different than the Orange version, and that one is still fully rad.
