Super envious that you get to go whenever you want. Welcome to the west! Will definitely hit that up, La Brea Tar Pits too. So much to see and do. Very excited.

There s tons of other good places too but those were our drinking places. There was a third called Bottle Rock but i think it s gone now. There s a great storybook house in Culver City near Sony. The Hobbit Househttp://www.californiacuriosities.com/la-hobbit-houses/Yeah, we can walk to Culver in about 10 minutes. Went to Father's Office and had Chateau de Breze Cremant de Loire with smoked eel. The burger was OK. I mean the meat was great, I just have a thing about blue cheese with beef; I don't like it. Also went to Alibi Room, Roberta's (yes, the Brooklyn one, they opened one in Culver), Hatchett Hall/Old Man Bar, Alta...I'm probably forgetting something. In your vicinity you definitely need to hit Mayura (South Indian restaurant) and the Tattle Tale Room (extremely divey karaoke bar)

One of my three or four favorite locals and kind of the OG natural wine bar in Manhattan. Outpost in Echo Park w/in the next year or perhaps much sooner, I think? No where near you, but I used to love these places in LA when I used to visit a lot:Ye Rustic Inn: Great divey pub. Insanely cheap "Bloody Mary Breakfast Special" hangover breakfast includes a free mixed drink. People like their wings. The Red Lion Tavern: Classic LA German restaurant.Frolic Room: If you find yourself in Hollywood hell, this dive bar reminded me of gritty dive bars in Chicago. You will also definitely run into random actors here.

My wife and I have a lot of LGBT friends who are moving to and buying places in West Adams. My wife, who is in real estate part time, always says to follow the gay community. That whole area just south of the 10 is coming up super-quickly.
