What do you call the tape you use to splice two pieces of tape together with? Is there a prefered brand?

It's called "splicing tape," and we use the blue polyester stuff that used to be sold by Quantegy. I don't know who makes it, probably 3M, but if you search for it, you should find some somewhere.
