Birthday Party were a cool band, and Rowland S Howard is excellent, but I can't stand Nick Cave.

Yeah, Nick Cave dissed every single band back then except for The Fall. Seemed like a guy with a lot to prove. These days he likes to prove that he has a closet full of suits..

Basically the same timeframe as the Birthday Party.

For me it's the bass that wins it. Tracy Pew on King Ink & Mutiny in Heaven is some of the greatest shit I have ever heard. David J is no slouch, but Pew was a monster.

Any band with Daniel Ash on guitar wins for me.

Nick Cave gives off sex pest vibes to me. Barf.

Bauhaus. More eclectic. More atmosphere. More goth.
