Is any of you guys behind the Fireside Tapes youtube account? I'm totally wallowing in nostalgia at the moment, though what's uploaded is a few years before I started going there. I swear can still smell the place... Some great teenage moments were had there, luckily Bryan lived a short walk away. Already some great shows on there, hoping more will come:
Re: Fireside Tapes
2I was working remotely when these started going up and had less time than I do now to watch things on youtube. Thanks for the reminder! Really excited to watch The Sky Corvair and Los Crudos sets. The most surprising things to me are that there isn't an Oblivion set in here, and none of these look to be filmed from that first post past the stage above the seats. I seem to remember someone always perched up there with a camcorder for most of the busier shows. I think I recall FM akosinski being at the Very Secretary show and talking that up after the fact.
At this point I'm not sure if the Fireside or Quenchers is the stage I've played on the most, but the Fireside is still certainly the place I've seen the most shows, and is still sort of the default when I think of a live show. I'm happy to see more of this stuff making it's way online and people archiving show flyers and other ephemera.

Re: Fireside Tapes
3there was an article i saw (i think on Brooklyn Vegan) that interviewed the guy doing. fairly certain it's the guy from Mount Saint Helens.
there are a shit ton of fireside shows on youtube, just not very organized. i filmed a few and they're on Hi-8 tapes in a box in my office. I'm just too lazy to digitize them.
