Isn't it frustrating when you listen to a song and like what you hear, but then something happens which instantly puts you off?

Like this song here by Theatre of Tragedy, a gothic metal band from the late 90s which I remember some of my friends listening to. The song begins and it's nice; mysterious, beautiful melody. I like her voice. But then ughhh I'm tired of that guitar sound. And the riffing is so unimaginative.

Some Australian psych rock thing. The acronym stands for "King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard" which is about the dumbest band name I've seen. The music makes up for it though.

Reissue LP of Spiritualized's Lazer Guided Melodies. So good.

Jupiter Apple - Hisscivilization

I've dismissed this (now deceased) brazilian artist for a long time because I thought t was mere retro copycat stuff, but I've been recommended this album and (along with some weaker pastiche tracks) there's some compelling, crazy stuff on it, starting with the opening track. I also recommend the "Aquarius & Pieces" suite in the middle (not sure the wordplay is intentional there):
