So it fits the Dano fine in terms of length and width, the only issue is the Bigsby - it requires a bit of pressure to shut the lid. I'm fine with this - it's going to be in the case for maybe an hour or two a week to and from band practice.
Is that really dumb?
Is there an easy, unmessy way of removing some of the padding? I thought it might be polystyrene, but it feels really squishy, almost like really thick velour. I kind of feel that for the journey to and from band practice, and maybe an hour in the boozer afterwards, it can't hurt the guitar too much. It's depressing the Bigsby, so the only thing taking the strain is the spring, no? Rather than the neck.

12Have you tried swinging the bigsby arm down towards the heel of the guitar? Usually they're angled up such that in playing position the tip is at its highest, but swing it 180 degrees and it should lower it substantially.

13I tried that straight off, but it actually feels like there is more resistance that way than leaving it in "playing" position - possibly because it's shifting the "problematic height" towards the end of the case - my guess is, there's more give towards the middle of the padding and/or the lid.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:06 am Have you tried swinging the bigsby arm down towards the heel of the guitar? 14I think even my Hallmark does that a little with the Bigsby-esque trem in its molded case, I haven't noticed it creating problems. Hell, don't some people purposefully detune a bit when storing guitars for awhile?
Also, that arm is probably removable from the under side with a stubby screw driver (that's how mine works at least) but I've never bothered.

15I have nothing to offer in terms of cases, but I could not be more envious of the guitar.
