One Man Bands
1This is a good time to learn how to use the search function, because I couldn't find this one. Where is it?
I feel like this gets to be the case with a lot of those BLAH BLAH & THE WHATZ-ITS bands, if it's a case of the leader writing the songs and arrangements and not letting the backing band adjust things much. Can think of a few examples where things start to get a little samey after 2-3 records.penningtron wrote: Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:07 am
I think the percentage of good vs. bad isn't much different than regular bands, but the pitfalls can be different. One man bands can have the tendency to sound too stiff/sterile/one-note

Their music isn't for me (does Neil Young playing guitar and harmonica at the same time and then piano and harmonica, count?), but I don't find the whole concept crap because of it.Curry Pervert wrote: Wed Jun 09, 2021 4:30 pmHave you ever heard them?boilermaker wrote: Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:03 amWhy is that crap?Curry Pervert wrote: Tue Jun 08, 2021 3:56 pm Yeah if you're talking about some dude on the street with an acoustic, a drum on his back and a harmonica, then CRAP.
