OMG Tuscaloosa Woman. One of the greatest jokes to take shape and form and become a real thing. We could have shut down the forum just after that. It won everything.

Yes the Gallo thread was real and also my single favorite thing about not just the PRF but the internet in general. You can @ almost anyone, famous or not, and interact with almost anyone. It was my first realization of the potential democratization effect of the internet. At least how it seemed in 2006. A few years later I encountered Gallo while he spent a week at the facility I worked at in Santa Monica California re-coloring Buffalo '66 for blu ray and it was all I could do to stop myself mentioning the thread because I really wanted to say something to his face and see his reaction but could not confront him in that context, unfortunately. I mean he even insulted me personally in that. I was so tickled by how hilarious it was and how ridiculous he is. I didn't know much about him at the time so I absolutely could not believe that someone like that took the time, several times over a few days, to sign up for an account, go to that thread and interact with so many of us and in such a negative manner knowing that we all knew who he really was. Of course now I know he is a despicable sack of shit that sells his own sperm online but supposedly only to white women, and it does not seem like a joke or performance art. Dude is a sicko. That thread blew my mind. Just the biggest chef's kiss to that one.

I was just thinking about Tuscaloosa Woman yesterday. There was some youtube thing about 70's rock songs and they were all about a woman. But none of them can ever beat the Tuscaloosa woman, imo.

My memory is fuzzy, but I recall arguing a lot about dumb shit and then after we all knew what each other looked like and where everyone lived, we argued more, but in better ways.

I often think of random Lemur posts and chuckle to myself, like Cher warbling "Do you believe in life after sluts?" or "Japanese Noise Whistling".

Life is very different now, but I definitely remember depressed weekends in bed, compulsively refreshing the page for the next donut delivery goof on the boo-hoo-not-coming-to-the-forum-anymore thread, for instance. This place helped to get me through some rough times, provided levity and moral support, and that is what I think of when I think of the old forum.
