Why is it so commonplace for people to discard inner sleeves for vinyl records?

I've now inherited records from my aunt, my dad, my cousin, my sister-in-law, and my father-in-law. Every single one of them had at least several records, if not most or all of them, with missing inner sleeves.

And when I first started collecting records, I started doing this, too, having learned this bad practice from others. I want to go back in time and smack myself silly.

Is it really that inconvenient to properly put a vinyl record in an inner sleeve first and then put the inner sleeve and record in its cover?

Ugh.

Rant over.
Who knows why people do this, but then again, last thing I used a CD for was scraping ice off a windshield.

I just replace them when I buy used records anyway. Always get a stack of them when I buy plastics.

Another key thing, I use the plastic cover upright and NEVER put the inner sleeve back in the jacket.
Less wear on the jacket and inner sleeve, and if you record shelving has the records spine out, you don't have a bunch of plastic shit flapping everywhere.
DIY and die anyway.

Why the fuck can't people negotiate a proper left turn in a car? The lane I'm driving in is MY lane. It's still my lane when I pull up to a stop sign. You are not allowed to take a lazy corner when turning left such that you encroach in the place I'm coming to stop. Drive a little deeper in the intersection before you turn. Street driving ain't F1 and you're not looking to hit the apex on every corner. Jerk.

Along the same lines, those of you that find it necessary to drive ridiculous big trucks and SUV's, could you please look down once in a while, instead of out across the expansive bonnet of your stupid huge truck? Some of your fellow road users are on motorcycles or tiny cars like the kind I favor. I can't tell you how many times some dufus has almost wiped me out when I'm driving my Sprite or Miata. Last year I was gassing up the Miata and dumbass in his too big truck backed out of his parking place, stove in the passenger side door and started leaving. I had to chase him down. He didn't even realize he hit me. His hitch punched a hole in the door skin about 3 inches from the bottom of the window. Three weeks later some dumbfuck in a too big truck couldn't control coming to stop and rear ended my wife. Four weeks after that some cocksocket was driving his too big truck in a parking lot my MIL was parked in and he took off the whole front clip of her car. Less than 2 months and over $20k of damage to 3 vehicles because of brain dead too big truck drivers.

Well first they said do not wear masks because they don't protect you and may instill a false sense of security (so that you don't keep the distancing rule), then they said masks don't protect you but you should still wear one "just in case", then they said you should absolutely wear a mask. Maybe people just stopped listening.

I don't know that they ever started. Ridiculous, particularly given what I've found to be a very sensible national character otherwise.

I will air a grievance related to this.

If given a choice that includes being courteous to others, a very significant portion of the population of the USA will actually go out of their way to do the opposite, even if it's illogical, just because they don't like being told what to do. I cannot stand this. (I fully realize that not everyone on the PRF lives in the USA.)
Also, they enjoy watching people on the other end of the political spectrum get pissed off.

"A very sensible national character"? You're talking about somewhere that isn't the US, right?
