Sure, I'm being unfair to this band I remember disliking in 10th grade. They seemed really overwrought, is all.jason from volo wrote: Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:45 pmI don’t think I’ve ever seen those two bands grouped together like that.biscuitdough wrote: Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:16 pm Live and Shudder to Think always rubbed me the wrong way and seemed really pretentious back then, and were unavoidable for a while.
Live is… yuck.
Shudder to Think. I knew nothing of them and then saw them open for Pavement. IMO, they totally blew them off the stage. I now realize that it probably isn’t that hard to do that, but for at least a good 45 minutes I liked that band.
Guttermouth has got to be one of the absolute worst bands of the Warped Tour scene/era. Derivative, misogynistic, and one dimensional.biscuitdough wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:10 am I feel this thread needs more pop punk. There's got to be plenty of worst band candidates among NOFX, Blink-182, etc.
I saw that 'X French T-shirt' video in 9th grade at a friend's house and we laughed at how terrible and (we were stupid kids in the '90s) flamboyant it all seemed. After getting into Slint and a lot of math rock a few years later, I went back to that album and it became one of my favorites from that era. Don't go back to the video though..biscuitdough wrote:Sure, I'm being unfair to this band I remember disliking in 10th grade. ah yes.. I despised this band even back then, and as you might tell from ^above I was hardly enlightened. They were also just terrible musically.losthighway wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:43 am There's a less known punk band from my state called The Nobodys who were total garbage. They'd write songs with titles like "I Like Your Tits". If anyone was ever worried about a punk band being bad for an impressionable 13 year old mind, it was those guys. Ugh.
Agreed (see Meat Loaf, upstream).kokorodoko wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 10:56 am Worst ever for me has to be something that really sticks in the mind.
May I submit...Bowling For Soup. Dumb band name, irritating songs.biscuitdough wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:10 amI feel this thread needs more pop punk. Any band in that vein is the worst band ever, I don't care which, it gets my +1.biscuitdough wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:10 am I feel this thread needs more pop punk. There's got to be plenty of worst band candidates among NOFX, Blink-182, etc.
