Goofy 80s metal band: Accept

I had this strange urge to listen to them today. I enjoy them; they're like Brian Johnson AC/DC if Judas Priest brainwashed and re-indoctrinated them.

Udo looks almost exactly like one of my social work professors from undergrad. I have mixed feelings about this, because that particular professor was one of the major reasons I hated undergrad.

Very, very German - slightly goofy, clueless sincerity vibe that I find very endearing in person (I married a German and spend time there regularly) but... it isn't cool. It's a great mentality for functioning adults in a functional society, but it makes for some weird rock bands.

Musically I'd say they're competent imitators, but they seem to lack that spark to really make their own sound out of the Priest / AC/DC axis they sit on.

As a result the early stuff is all over the place: by Breaker they've figured it out but the albums are very hit and miss (thou w/ slightly better quality control than the Scorps). I think they pulled it together on Restless and Wild and Balls to the Wall which are solid and well produced. BttW has a bizarre homoerotic undertone lyrically that is quite amusing - apparently aided by contributions from their female manager at the time. Metal Heart was so slathered in cheese polish that I totally lost interest.

Crap, high WF for their strong material, but take away the odd cultural mistranslations and the music is just a bit dull and faceless.

Better songs, better production, better record, better stage show.
I really don't know if you are trolling me or are you serious.

"London Leatherboys" "Lovechild" seem a bit Gay to me.
It's cool - I'm not gay, but I like a lot of gay music.
(Pet Shop Boys, Imagination, Danny Tenaglia. Big Boys, etc.)

What is gay music? Musicians/bands you mentioned have zero in common (apart from one or more members being gay, I guess). Is there such a thing as straight music? Bi music?
