Got my Schott after lying in the weeds long enough to find one for the price of a snare drum I never played anyway. It was second hand.
It arrived stuffed in a box, it fit perfectly (Perfecto-ly?).

Also, btw, there was a gram of blow in the pocket.

I sent photos to a bunch of my friends, then set an alarm for 4am so I could wake up and send them all a text that said "DUDE WE SHOULD START A RESTAURANT"

I still have a cheap one I bought over 20 years ago. It was always a metal thing for me, not spiky-punk since I never had spikes, patches or paint on it. I wear it less now that I'm old because I don't want to be confused with 1%er bikers, who are almost universally white power types, or midlife crisis yuppies.

I lost jackets often in my drinking days, but somehow never this one.

This topic puts me in mind of all the other constantly changing rules of fashion, ie don't wear sneakers unless you're exercising, don't wear unbuttoned button down shirts, etc. That shit is crap.

Biker jacket whenever you want, not crap.

Wear whatever the hell you want at whatever the hell age you are. I picked up a leather jacket in my early 20s, it still fits, I look good in it, it keeps me warm in the winter but stays cool in the summer, and it's wind and water proof. It needs some stitching replaced and I probably won't buy a new one if it completely falls apart, but I'm 43 and I'll keep wearing it until that happens, be it 44 or 94.

I had a biker jacket in my 20s, when I had a bike (and couldn't afford a "real" biker jacket with kevlar and armor). I hated that jacket. It was too hot, heavy as fuck, not breathable, not flexible and just miserable to wear.

Now in my late 40s I'm more of a base-layer, puffy jacket, hard-shell outer kind of guy. It doesn't look "cool", but it is light, breathable, warm, waterproof, and helps me survive multiple days in wilderness.

Not to say it doesn't look good on other folks though.

Lord I hope not! At my age my biggest worry is accidentally becoming a Steely Dan fan.

Or in OP's case Rondstadt
