Charles Grodin has the dubious honour of starting the new list of the departed.

I love his cheeky grin.

2In our downtime, Marvelous Marvin Hagler passed away. The very definition of a champion, and the only person I've ever felt starstruck in the presence of. My sporting hero.

3Midnight Run remains my favorite movie ever. Nobody did the odd couple better than Grodin+De Niro.
So it's sad to read that Charles Grodin passed, only months apart from Yaphet "Special Agent Alonzo Mosley" Kotto.
RIP Charles Grodin, I wish you well in the next life (feasting on lyonnaise potatoes ) !
I was hoping to post a clip where the Duke advises Jack, if he were his accountant, to not open a coffee shop. I can't find it on youtube, but that was my favorite scene in particular.

4Kentaro Miura, the artist and writer of 'Berserk' has just died, cruelly young. I still haven't read his work, but he's cited as a key influence by people whose work I love, not least Hidetaka Miyazaki ('Dark Souls' is apparently generous with 'Berserk'-references). This video seems like a decent introduction.

5Today is the 10th anniversary of when Macho Man Randy Savage ascended into the heavens to kick Jesus' ass and prevent the rapture. We ought to eat Slim Jims in his honour.

6That crazy motherfucker John McAfee appears to have done an hero while in jail awaiting prosecution for tax evasion. Don't exactly admire the man, but he deserves some kind of mention.

7I still wake up with a rage boner every day because Lemmy is still dead.

While I'm not usually much of a "Nostalgia..." guy, this guy's work always made the list.
