Who knows why people do this, but then again, last thing I used a CD for was scraping ice off a windshield.jason from volo wrote: Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:40 am I'VE GOT A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH (YOU) PEOPLE! NOW YOU'RE GONNA HEAR ABOUT IT.

Why is it so commonplace for people to discard inner sleeves for vinyl records?
I've now inherited records from my aunt, my dad, my cousin, my sister-in-law, and my father-in-law. Every single one of them had at least several records, if not most or all of them, with missing inner sleeves.
And when I first started collecting records, I started doing this, too, having learned this bad practice from others. I want to go back in time and smack myself silly.
Is it really that inconvenient to properly put a vinyl record in an inner sleeve first and then put the inner sleeve and record in its cover?
Ugh.
Rant over.
I just replace them when I buy used records anyway. Always get a stack of them when I buy plastics.
Another key thing, I use the plastic cover upright and NEVER put the inner sleeve back in the jacket.
Less wear on the jacket and inner sleeve, and if you record shelving has the records spine out, you don't have a bunch of plastic shit flapping everywhere.
