The live version of Tommy kicks the shit out of the studio album and is the only version of that record I listen to.jason from volo wrote: Mon Jun 28, 2021 12:29 pm My nomination: The Who - Live at Leeds, particularly the expanded edition (re-released again a few years ago on half-speed-mastered triple LP).
^FYP.
Also, Ramones - It's Alive!

24Came to say this one. Possibly my favorite Burma record. Their version of "Heart of Darkness" fucking smokes.
Re: Best live album(s) ever
25Live at Leeds would be the best live album.. had the Who had focused on their best songs, and not blues covers and Tommy. "Heaven and Hell" is great, though it wasn't even included originally.PASTA wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 4:45 pm If Live at Leeds is the end of list what are these other things doin' here?
Re: Best live album(s) ever
26Seeing The Wailers and John Martyn on this thread is a reminder that The Who Live at Leeds isn't even in the top two Live at Leeds albums.

27I'll add:
Camper Van Beethoven - Greatest Hits Played Faster
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Live 75-85

28Hmmmm...it's not on Spotify. I got the Cigarettes and Carrot Juice box set a long time ago, that's where I got it.jason from volo wrote: Fri Jul 02, 2021 8:31 amI didn't even know such thing existed.
Will look for it.
