Re: Band: Radiohead
13Whenever I think of this band, my brain automatically offers up a Simon Reynolds line (that I'm paraphrasing) "So, hooray for the middlebrow! Well, maybe the upper middlebrow."
Ponderous band. Pink Floyd levels of ponderousness. And while I feel that very little of it (aside from the wretched Pablo Honey) is bad, I can't say I honestly think any of it is any good, either.
Crap.

Re: Band: Radiohead
18I never thought they were a great band, but a good band with some great songs. “Let Down” especially.
But nowadays I find the vocals irritating. Not sure why, I still think Thom’s voice is pretty cool, just… overly earnest or something?

19That's the price you pay for desperation for fame. They piggybacked grunge and aped Nirvana to get famous and it worked. Now pay the piper.

20I have a pretty vivid memory of tuning into the SNL airing wherein they performed a couple tracks off of Kid A; I must have been all of 15 years old. Bought that album directly thereafter and wore it right out.
Formative musical experience. Haven't listened to them since.
