Oh, well it's a figure of speech but I was talking in the sense of "allowed by public opinion", I guess. "How are they able to make this game" or "Why do people want to play it". I don't like certain subjects being illegal. But it maybe amounts to the same thing? If a creator through boycotts and pressure and whatnot is forced out of the public arena. I think there's a difference, but I don't have a clear idea.

If WWII happened today we would lose. The public isn't willing to make the sacrifices it would take to win. I don't mean the "sacrifice" of sending someone else's children off to get blown up into hamburger, I mean fuel and material rationing, recycling, businesses giving up wants so that factories can produce needs, and so on. People aren't even willing to change their air conditioning habits to save themselves from brownouts or get vaccinated to save themselves from COVID.
