I typically give mine back when getting the new one (I'm "only" on my 3rd smart phone) but yeah that or an old iPod would work in theory, but are probably nearing the end of their lifespans and I kinda figured there was a better solution for this now.

A basic 32GB iPad is $329 and would probably do the trick.

I tap along to music a lot. When I use my feet I always find it far more natural to drum with my heels rather than the balls of my feet. Is this unusual? Do drum pedals exist that allow for playing from the heel?

Playing 'heel up' would be easy(ish) to convert to from just heel.

I don't know how much you know about drumming, but the two normal methods are 'heel down' where the foot pivets on the heel in a classic 'tapping you foot' type of move, or 'heel up' where the ball of your foot stays on the pedal, but the entire leg fires the pedal, so more of a sophisticated 'stamp' (it isn't really that, but I can't think how to describe it).

Your heel tapping would convert nicely to 'heel up' I would think, which is commonly seen as the more desirable (cue endless internet arguing!) tecnique for rock.

Generally speaking, how hard is it to repair/replace pots on amplifiers? This listing says the amp has a bent master volume, but that it works fine. Just curious if it could be something easily replaced.

I don't know about this one specifically, but some of the modern Fender stuff is a total pain in the ass to change a pot because they are soldered directly to a PCB. So you might have to remove the nuts to all of the knobs so you can pull out an elongated PCB to get to the one pot you'll have to desolder. Might be easy to squirt some Deoxit or similar into the existing pot though.

Ah, thanks. It doesn't affect the functionality (at least according to the listing), but was just curious if I were to pick it up and decide later to replace the pot.

I agree with this assessment. It's likely gonna be board mounted pots that require removing the whole PCB to replace.
