In this battle "Jungle Love" is the victor, but "Let It Whip" is a great song with a fantastic bridge. Great turnaround bass licks in that one. Tonally, I believe "Party Train" from The Gap Band would've made a worthy fighter.

I never understood why Prince saved his greasier alley funk for The Time. Out of all of his projects The Time sounds less like Prince than any of his other bands, or songs he wrote for other artists.

As an aside, I used to get Dazz Band and the monster tune "Dazz" by Brick all discombobulated. In a pairing between "Jungle Love" and "Dazz" the latter wins by a longshot.

so funky

Please allow me a few moments to stan The Time.

OK, so Prince done did a slight studio trickery with his already phenomenally funky drumming, but Jellybean Johnson, drummer for The Time, added his own flavor while playing live. Great track.

Way better than "Jungle Love" or "The Bird." Urban funk.

And here is a problematic video for Morris Day's "Fishnet." Song is a jam tho.

And let's not forget Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis' contributions to the wonderful world of 90's R&B, especially Janet, Ms. Jackson if you nasty.

Pick a song. Any song.
