Same goes for Einsturzende Neubaten, who keep rescheduling and canceling gigs. Garth Brooks, Foo Fighters (playing in Anchorage at a moment when there are no ICU beds left!), GnR, Lolla, Pitchfork...are all gonna have blood on their hands at the end of this. Fuck them.

When people end up at this point, wtf do you even say to them as their therapist? mio dio

To be fair, that was after 5 concerts already and it's not like this thing was some big mystery 3 weeks ago. The Kansas City show was telling:
His August 7th concert at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium featured an on-site vaccination clinic presented by the stadium and city officials. Only 35 concert-goers opted to get vaccinated at the clinic, according to the Kansas City Health Department.
Obviously getting a shot right before an event isn't how vaccines are meant to work, and certainly some of the 70,000 people there were already vaccinated but I guarantee it wasn't 69,965 of them.

Yup, this guy made me think of the anti-fluoride Portlanders. and the folks who suggested I take fish oils instead of chemo.

That's both fucking outrageous, and wholly unsurprising.

It's EXACTLY like the twats WITH covid, hooked up to a respirator asking for the vaccine. The depth of basic ignorance of science
is astounding.

I don’t want to come on here and defend Garth fucking Brooks, but anyone willing to set up a vax site at their shows as a means to get people to get jabbed is good. I applaud the effort.

My comments regarding the FDA were not meant to imply that I think the FDA is bad. Re-reading my comments, I don’t know see how that came across, but nonetheless, my comments are directed at people saying “I’m not getting the shot because it’s not 100% approved.” My response to this sentiment is “Fuck you, you’re lying. Until now, you have never cared whether a drug was 100% authorized by the FDA, nor did you know there were processes for emergency approval. You can’t even explain to me what “off label” is, you’re just picking a data point to support a conclusion you’ve already made. When it’s approved, you’ll grab another dumb excuse from your bullshit idea buffet to point to as a reason not to use it, so again, fuck you for wasting my time.”

If someone wants to point to evidence that the vaccines do not work as designed, or that there are side effects that are worse than covid and it’s impacts, ok. Let’s chat. But if you’re just regurgitating garbage from the trashweb, then fuck you for thinking I haven’t heard and dismissed it before.

Yeah I hear both points for sure, and even a pitifully misguided effort is better than the thousands of people who still didn't bother.

I was done with the excuses by about mid-June. It shouldn't have come to the July/Aug spike we knew would happen if Biden's (conservative) July 4th target goals weren't met. Schools are predictably a clusterfuck right now, I feel bad for parents trying to navigate this stuff.

100% agreed. On two fronts: Usually those that bitch about the FDA are complaining about the lengthy approval process when a loved one is dying from cancer or a neurodegenerative disease and they don't meet the protocols for whatever trial study might benefit them. Suddenly the FDA can't move quickly enough on an approval. Oh, the irony. Secondly, these are the same fucking people that would otherwise take things far riskier prescribed to them: monoclonal antibodies for your psoriasis that could give you cancer? Sure, go ahead - I'm sick of itching and looking like a leper! Statins? No problem! Benzodiazepines? Sure, those will go great with a glass of wine after dinner! But a vaccine 20+ years in the making that over 300 million people have taken without any issues? No fucking way - I have rights!
