It really disappoints me that I did not know this existed and now it is not available. I love Tar. Viaduct Removal was the first song I had ever heard by them. It immediately blew me away. I will always love Tar. Mike Greenlees is one of the most solid and thoughtful drummers ever. And that ride cymbal. Some lucky alien civilization many light years away will one day receive their first transmission of that ride cymbal and hold the civilization that was responsible for that ride cymbal in higher regard than we deserve. At the end of the universe there will still be the sound of that ride cymbal.

Mike is a wonderful human being and that ride cymbal is just lovely. i spent many years playing that drum kit (and that ride cymbal) and it was a total pleasure.

I realize I pretty much wrote the same thing as I did in the archived thread. Just a testament to my limited ability to produce original prose. But anyway that god damn ride cymbal. I remember as a teenager tapping every inch of my 22” blue Paiute colour sound ride with every size stick (wood and nylon tip) at every velocity and and angle to try to get anything close to the quality and character that he so effortlessly hammers forth.

That's my favorite too, and yeah it's one of their handful of songs that if sung with whispered vocals could almost be shoegaze. Roundhouse always seems to get a little overlooked in these discussions, it still might be my favorite.
