I thought that TAR releasing this awesome box merited a reboot of this thread.
I have my copy on my dresser right now. It is sold out sorry, but the records are available.
I appreciate TAR. Thanks TAR!
Re: TAR Appreciation vol. 2
2Tar fucking rules. Fantastic, patient, pulverizing musicians.
Justice for Randall Adjessom, Javion Magee, Destinii Hope, Kelaia Turner, Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell

It really disappoints me that I did not know this existed and now it is not available. I love Tar. Viaduct Removal was the first song I had ever heard by them. It immediately blew me away. I will always love Tar. Mike Greenlees is one of the most solid and thoughtful drummers ever. And that ride cymbal. Some lucky alien civilization many light years away will one day receive their first transmission of that ride cymbal and hold the civilization that was responsible for that ride cymbal in higher regard than we deserve. At the end of the universe there will still be the sound of that ride cymbal.

4Hell yeah. I always enjoyed the mixture of simple parts and complicated structure. Loved them since I was a teenager and now they're kinda my pals. Pretty cool. Very much looking forward to the box.

Mike is a wonderful human being and that ride cymbal is just lovely. i spent many years playing that drum kit (and that ride cymbal) and it was a total pleasure.

6I said it few weeks ago on a other thread, Jackson is a desert island record.
Over and out is not far behind. Building Taj mahal, welk...
My fave must be Jurbo though, a very unique song in their discography; They seem almost like another band.

Is the other one Charles Bronson?
I realize I pretty much wrote the same thing as I did in the archived thread. Just a testament to my limited ability to produce original prose. But anyway that god damn ride cymbal. I remember as a teenager tapping every inch of my 22” blue Paiute colour sound ride with every size stick (wood and nylon tip) at every velocity and and angle to try to get anything close to the quality and character that he so effortlessly hammers forth.akosinski wrote:i was waiting for you to post in this threadBarbo wrote: It really disappoints me that I did not know this existed and now it is not available. 10That's my favorite too, and yeah it's one of their handful of songs that if sung with whispered vocals could almost be shoegaze. Roundhouse always seems to get a little overlooked in these discussions, it still might be my favorite.Vibracobra wrote: Fri Aug 20, 2021 1:48 pm My fave must be Jurbo though, a very unique song in their discography; They seem almost like another band.
