What privilege to be so fucking choosey!
No doubt because of the bad press. Ironically the AZ and Pfizer vaccines when looked at honestly have very similar rates of efficacy, but the AZ costs £5 and the Pfizer costs £32.

Coincidence?
the AZ one costs us here around 2€. The here is Croatia.
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...

RE: the moderna , it’s so largely similar to the Pfizer that unless there’s an aspect to it that’s not yet understood (unlikely, but possible) then it’ll get approved in time as well.

RE: the costs in America - yeah, the whole system here is so fucked it’s hard to evaluate apples to apples, but if the argument is that the drug companies are acting in their own total self interest financially, then yes, I agree. The fact that one is able to better manipulate it’s position to advance it’s interests is stupid and disappointing, but unfortunately not surprising.

The ideas that drug companies can be profit motivated and self serving while still producing effective drugs are not mutually exclusive. An unfortunate side effect of capitalizing health care, and another reason for socialization of the system.

This isn’t correct. Moderna is still under emergency authorization. The news was that Moderna had finished submitting all of their data to the FDA. Pfizer is still the only vaccine in the US to finished the process.
You're absolutely right.
Last Monday, I read about Pfizer being approved, and I was certain that later that week I read that Moderna was as well.

Shame on me.
DIY and die anyway.

Yep. One of the weirdest aspects of the “vaccines are just there to make Big Pharma rich…” argument is literally everything is there to enrich someone. Cars, guitars, TVs… bananas are broadly accessible in developed economies because of market forces. How people suddenly equate this with Smoke Filled Rooms at Acme Drug Cartel is intellectually dishonest. Coincidentally the kind of people that see sinister motives in vaccine research and production have zero issues with other industries making bank on super useful stuff like handguns and cigarettes.

[dumb sarcasm] Is it possible that my perceptions of US constitutional law and my paranoia about crime, personal liberties and the loss of white majority status could be manipulated through various media outlets by Savage, Ruger, Remington, Glock, Sig-Sauer, et al...to sell me more of their awesome helplessness supplication hardware?

Say it ain't so!!! [/dumb sarcasm]

I'm honestly (no dumb sarcasm) surprised this angle doesn't come up in discussions more often. Everyone fumes about how the fucking petroleum and insurance industries have bamboozled (or attempted to) us for decades, but no one dare discuss how the small arms industry has manipulated the helplessness of white, rural, working class people to hoard a product that has almost no practical day-to-day use.

It would be one thing if these companies were all domestic, but the reality is some of the largest selling small arms in the US are manufactured by interests in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Argentina, Italy. It's one thing to think that US gun nuts become whacko fuckos based solely on domestic pundits and media, but what happens when those pundits and outlets are largely funded and inflamed by outside influences?

My dad has been in remission for stage 4 lung cancer for the last few years. About 2 weeks ago, he got a positive diagnosis for Covid. He felt really horrible for about a week, they gave him some sort of antibody booster and a few days later, he started to feel better. he is still having a little bit of a hard time breathing, but looks like he is going to be OK. Their is absolutely zero reason he would have lived through Covid had he not been vaccinated. He didn't need to be hospitalized or intubated. He lives in Arkansas, where he said they are just now passing the 30% vaxxed point. He was resistant to get the vax, but his oncologist who pretty much saved his life got pissed at him and yelled at him for being so willing to undo all his hard work. Now, he is pretty glad he got it.

Probably not coincidence the Walther logo looks like they're in the Candy business, huh?
