Probably not coincidence the Walther logo looks like they're in the Candy business, huh?

[dumb sarcasm] Is it possible that my perceptions of US constitutional law and my paranoia about crime, personal liberties and the loss of white majority status could be manipulated through various media outlets by Savage, Ruger, Remington, Glock, Sig-Sauer, et al...to sell me more of their awesome helplessness supplication hardware?

Say it ain't so!!! [/dumb sarcasm]

I'm honestly (no dumb sarcasm) surprised this angle doesn't come up in discussions more often. Everyone fumes about how the fucking petroleum and insurance industries have bamboozled (or attempted to) us for decades, but no one dare discuss how the small arms industry has manipulated the helplessness of white, rural, working class people to hoard a product that has almost no practical day-to-day use.
It's a truly troublesome thing. And needing further discusssion
Agree with all I’ve quoted above, and yes, it’s funny how people demonize the profit motive in a capitalist system. Like, that’s the fucking game, what did you expect?

I mean, until we’ve got something else to work with, it is what it is, ya know? :-)

He felt really horrible for about a week, they gave him some sort of antibody booster and a few days later, he started to feel better. he is still having a little bit of a hard time breathing, but looks like he is going to be OK. Their is absolutely zero reason he would have lived through Covid had he not been vaccinated. He didn't need to be hospitalized or intubated. He lives in Arkansas, where he said they are just now passing the 30% vaxxed point. He was resistant to get the vax, but his oncologist who pretty much saved his life got pissed at him and yelled at him for being so willing to undo all his hard work. Now, he is pretty glad he got it.
Good news man. The political right around the world have opened the Serpent’s Egg… one of the definitions of fascism is the “will to death”… it seems to be creeping up the political food chain.

I was talking to a right wing libertarian wacko that’s tolerated in my gaming group, who posted a “my body, my choice” comment in our chat.

I called him out on it. How the fuck is basic medicine a political issue? Yes, big drug companies are going to make money. I have had some interactions with medical professionals that work in the field of designing vaccines and gene therapy. These are some of the most talented, caring people you’ll meet. They spend their lives trying to fix frankly hideous diseases from babies to the elderly. Some dipshit Lib-Bro thinks it’s “government”, our group told him we wouldn’t meet with him in person until he vaccinated.

You should tell him about the AZ vaccine being provided on a non profit basis during the pandemic.

Dinosaur Jr just axed the first part of their tour. Fuck.

Due to the rise Covid cases and hospitalizations along with the impact that the Delta variant is having at the moment,
Dinosaur Jr. will postpone the first leg of their fall tour, September 10th through October 2nd. In the hope that conditions improve in the coming weeks, the band intends to proceed with the November 2021 and all 2022 dates as planned. Please stay tuned for information on the rescheduled September dates and please visit point of purchase to inquire about your tickets.
From J:
I’m really bummed that we’re not playing these shows. I miss touring and miss all of you. I’m grateful for your understanding, and I hope all of you are able to stay safe.

My wife and I have tickets to the Boston show in late November. I'd like to see this of course, but I have to expect that it may fall through.

Over the weekend, I saw a friend who’s employer had mandated vaccination for all employees. They gave all employees a month of lead time to get the shot and repeated over and over that they would fire people who refused. They even brought a healthcare provider on site to administer the vaccine. They made it clear that they weren’t fooling around.

Eight or nine people in maintenance/cleaning refused and were fired over the weekend. They were stunned that the company meant what they said and that they wouldn’t qualify for unemployment.

Interestingly, some of them refused the vaccine because their husbands didn’t want them to get it.

Their rude awakening will only get ruder when they learn that similar companies will also require vaccination.
