RIP Chris Bolig

1
Chris Bolig left the Earth last week. For those who don't know, he played music for the past 20 years in PRF associated bands such as Replicator, Cartographer, Mount Vicious, and sometimes Conan Neutron and the Secret Friends. He was a great friend and an intense musical companion. His personality came through in his playing; solid, powerful, a little crazy, and even smart-ass at times. His kindness as a human shined the most in times of need where he helped me and many other friends navigate the most difficult parts of their lives.

I will miss him tremendously.

From Conan on FB, whom I don't believe made it over to the new PRF?
It is with the heaviest heart that I must announce that Christopher Bolig is no longer with us. We were more than just bandmates, we were brothers from another mother. Anybody that ever saw him play drums were in awe of the thunder that he brought. When it comes to hard hitters, there was really second to none. We ostensibly learned to play our instruments together and spentwell over 10 years+ having adventures big, small and sometimes absurd. He was a fierce and a loyal friend, deeply hilarious and a true heart. An undeniable talent, he later put his dedication of craft towards the pursuit of physical fitness to astounding results. Then, he set his sights towards a career in service… pursuing a career in nursing right as the world changed and needed it most.

Almost anybody that ever met Chris came away knowing they had met somebody special. He had a unique way of focusing and making it seem like you were the only person in the world. His skills as a raconteur were beyond compare as well.

Our lives are so inexorably entwined together in so many ways, I feel empty, hollow, angry, and in deep sorrow. The world has lost somebody very, very special and far too young. He would have been 45 years old today.

His service will be private and limited to blood family. Please respect the privacy of the family in this devastating and sudden time of loss.
Feel free to share a Chris story if you have one.

God, did Chris have a *presence.* Not just behind the drums, but as a person. He always had that smoldering intensity behind everything he did, as Conan describes, but it could have been applied to drumming, or to telling stories or jokes, or helping out his buddies. I'm really thankful Conan dragged him out to Milwaukee for some Secret Friends shows a couple years ago, as it was my first time hanging out with him probably in almost ten years. Now i'm gutted that i won't see him again.

I didn't know him well but all of my interactions with him left me smiling. Dude was legit funny!

I also coveted him as a drummer more than once.

This makes me sad on a few different levels. One of which is the fact that of the group that stayed the night at my house way back in what...2007(?) two are now gone. Ouch.

WTF.. that's horrible. I saw him play a few times and even talked to him a bit after.. may have been a Mount Vicious show (if I recall it was to thank me and a few other Chicago band people for pitching in to the touring band's payout). Everyone who played in a band with him spoke very highly of his powerhouse drumming. Jesus what a bummer.

Totally gutted. Chris was of course a fucking amazing drummer, and a totally sweet and HILARIOUS dude. The shows that Police Teeth played w/ Mount Vicious back in '08/'09 were just the best time, non-stop laughs, and Chris was a huge part of that. And he was one of those dudes who could seemingly talk to anyone and have an engaged conversation, whether they were in the band, the audience, or not.

Wish I'd gotten to spend more time with him, but gonna treasure all time to that I did. My heart goes out to his family and friends and the whole Bay Area crew.

In late 2001 Replicator was doing a short tour of southern California. We were driving down to San Diego in the early evening from Los Angeles. In between Orange County and the San Diego suburbs is Camp Pendleton Marine Base. It's like 20 miles of nothing along I-5. There is however a rest stop.

So, we decide to stop there to have a bathroom visit and get some snacks. This rest area had one of those refrigerator case vending machines with the carousel. Even in 2001 this seemed out of place. For some reason, Chris decided to get the hard boiled egg from the vending machine. We all thought he was crazy.

Well, we were all right. A couple hours later, while at the the venue hanging out, it starts coming out both ends on Chris. We send a friend to the store and get every med we can buy. We had a van and a car on this tour, so Chris just laid down fully reclined in the car until we played. We did a full set and Chris powered through it. I believe he went right back to the car.

He recovered a few hours later, and was fine hanging out at where we crashed after the show. He never lived this down, though, and we told this story far and wide.

1. Holy shit, that's fucking disgusting. I can barely tolerate a high quality hard-boiled egg that was carefully refrigerated and fresh out of the cooking pot. Even then that initial peeling of the shell smells like opening the asshole of hell..

2. The show aspect: I went thru a very similar experience w/ food poisoning (may have been thai takeout but nothing too daring) and drumming hours later. They nearly kicked me out of the venue cuz they thought I was a junkie that wandered in just to puke in the bathroom, until I (and probably a bandmate or two) explained the situation. I even set up a trash bag off of the hi hat stand. But when the set started, it all went away and everything felt fine. It's a strange feeling, and I can imagine Chris was surprised by it too.

I am very saddened by this.

I am nowhere near to knowing any one of you in person, but every time I put on a Replicator record or any of the Cartographer stuff on, I felt a real connection with each and every member in that band. Chris was such a great drummer. And great drummers are mostly great men too, from my experience.

I wish everyone that knew him all the best moving forward. You got to spent time on this planet with a great human being, cherish that remembrance.
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...
