Re: Album: System of a Down's Toxicity
12“Trust in my / self-righteous suicide” is the worst lyric in the history of music. It’s likely the worst lyric in the future of music too.

15kicker_of_elves might be jason volo's Tyler Durden. Flying to and fro across the world jason has lost himself.

16I still love this stupid clown record. It scratches a very specific itch for me, though I've made pretty much no time for any of their other records. I still have my cassette of Toxicity that I bought in India and my recent acquisition of a shirt that just says "ALL RESEARCH AND SUCCESSFUL DRUG POLICY SHOWS THAT TREATMENT SHOULD BE INCREASED AND LAW ENFORCEMENT DECREASED WHILE ABOLISHING MANDATORY MINIMUM SENTENCES" fills me with a lot of glee. Not Crap, but I also understand why it's Crap.
Re: Album: System of a Down's Toxicity
17Lumped in w/ White Pony for me as a surprisingly successful maturation / mainstreaming effort that I don't really like very much. This came out when I was in my teens and the singles were played to death here (UK). I never need to hear 'Chop Suey' or 'Aerials' ever again.
I normally really dig 3 / 4 songs per SOAD record. Here it's 'Needles', 'Shimmy' and the title track. Very good drumming, very strong, idiosyncratic melodic voice from the guitar parts. Just not enough good songs.
Not sure it adds up to a N.C, TBH.

Re: Album: System of a Down's Toxicity
18I used to work in a warehouse with a bunch of dummies who listened to them constantly. I had no idea what the band was called at the time, so I called them the Trailer Vikings. I’d come home complaining to my wife about having to listen to the Trailer Vikings all day. Later, I figured out that they were System Of A Down.
Re: Album: System of a Down's Toxicity
19Anything refined to such an idiosyncratic and unique end gets respect from me even if I don't personally love it. Definitely not crap.

I slightly enjoyed a couple of tracks from their debuti, it was very well recorded.
Anyway, craPPola.
