We realized that our riff was just a military polka version of Weezer's "Hashpipe", a song which was popular on the radio at the time. Though I guess "Hashpipe" already sounded pretty much like "Wipeout"....so we just played a couple measures of Hashpipe as an intro to the song. I don't remember the decision making that went into it, but I think we meant it as a celebration of thievery, because none of us were Weezer fans.

I mean, if any member here wrote, "we had a song that accidentally ripped off Celine Dion, but we recorded it anyway," I'd definitely want to hear the interpretation.

Yeah, I don't trip on it too hard. I realize my music is for me and a few of my friends. This is our rock-n-roll!
