Amp/cab switchers

1
I've been toying around with the idea of buying an amp switcher for years, and I'm finally close to pulling the trigger.

There are a lot more options than there used to be:

I'd posted elsewhere:
...hoping I can get a reality check before I pull the trigger on a de lisle 7x7 with attenuator loop. https://www.delisleguitar.com/shop/de-l ... -7x7-loop/

my situation:
home guitarist with a ton of amps and a few cabs. No need for midi, real-time remote performance switching, etc.

my logic is:
1) the unused amps see a load, so I’m covered there
2) I can put my ps-2 in the attenuator loop, which enables me to impedance match amps and cabs
3) to prevent unused amps from seeing an input signal, I can just (duh) plug the guitar cable into the active amp manually.
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated! Thanks.

It seems like your desired switching happens at the speaker, not guitar-level? would a dumb old patchbay work for this? Maybe not a line level commercial deal but something with 12 or so rugged 1/4" jacks on the front and the same on the rear, wired with speaker grade wire? You could patch in the attenuator as well.

A dumb solution like this doesn't foolproof it like you want; you could potentially plug into an amp without a load, although with switched jacks I think you could run disconnected amp speaker outs to a big ass 8 ohm resistor.

This thread already exists! viewtopic.php?f=26&t=69430

And yeah a patchbay system would work. To my knowledge the original thread came down to how fool proof one wanted to make the switch system to avoid tube amps that are operating not being plugged into a load. If it was just for use in one's personal studio i'd use or build a simple patchbay.
