Misunderstood Villain: G1 Megatron

Mind you, we're not talking Bayverse Megs. That whole continuum can go die in a fire.

Is Megatron simply a one dimensional big bad, obsessed with control and domination purely out of a desire for complete subjugation to his ego? Or is there, as they say, more than meets the eye? Is he secretly a tortured antihero who sees violence and warfare as his only option? Is he a visionary who transcends the common understandings of good and evil? Does he simply like to kick Starscream around for any reason at all when he feels like it? You be the judge.

I had to check to see who Megatron is/was. Pretty sure I can say with all accuracy that I've never seen an episode of Transformers, which is odd being that I think I'm in the right age demographic for it.

I was a G-Force/Battle of the Planets boy.

I dabbled in Battle Of The Planets briefly some years ago, I should revisit. The story of Hasbro Transformers being plundered from Diaclone/Takara is probably the quintessential example of a US company making a fortune on another country's innovation.

That scene in the movie where he blows Iornhide's head off... so sick. You know him and Starscream get it on. Starscream is Megatron's equivalent of the man slave of that guy from The Roadwarrior.

No I meant Mohawk guy's boy toy, he had that other dude on a chain. The guy who got killed by the metal boomerang. So Starscream is that blond dude in this situation. You don’t get a more Australian, post apocalyptic, stereotypical weapon than a metal boomerang.

I'm glad where talking about Trasnformers, I have been working on some fan fiction these past months.
Here give it a read, you'll be glad you did.
