Re: RIP v2 - still no cure for death

How much of a stranglehold on the narrative do Premier League sponsors have over English football achievements and records?

My English soccer team is Tottenham. Until yesterday, I had no idea that Jimmy Greaves was the all-time top flight goalscorer in England. I had thought it to be Alan Shearer, because that's the only name the talking heads ever mention. I'm kind of ashamed that I drank their Kool-Aid for the last 15 years.

Greaves scored 357 top-flight goals and retired at age 31. That's almost 70 more than Shearer. Legend. Rest in Power.

Sad news. Pleasant guy, admittedly from limited interactions, and responsible for a cool body of work. Safe journey.
Friend of mine just alerted me to this and I realized I really missed out on this Cabaret Voltaire stuff. Giving 2x45 a listen now and really digging it.

Big bummer. Groundbreaking body of work, and if those Rolling Stone 'best 500 songs' bullshit lists were of any value "Nag Nag Nag" would be on them.
