Dave Holland: master of the 1/4 note. Have you ever read about his final few years on Earth? Yuck.

I think this is in order for me, best I can do. I struggled with it.

1) Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
2) Ramones - Leave Home/Rocket to Russia
3) Cheap Trick - Cheap Trick/In Color
4) Television - Marquee Moon
5) Wire - Pink Flag
6) Krafwerk - Trans Europe Express
7) Iggy Pop - The Idiot/Lust For Life
8) The Vibrators - Pure Mania - this is a seriously overlooked but excellent record.
9) AC/DC Let There Be Rock
10) Steely Dan - Aja
11) The Jam - In The City

Honorable mention to Neil Young - Decade (because it's like a greatest hits), Commodores (there's a couple clunkers on this one), and Talking Heads 77

Also, The Cars self titled and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life both narrowly miss 1977 and they would both be at the top of my list.

🤜🤛🏽

Love Gun came out that year, but Alive II was the first record my parents bought for me. Both got a lot of play. I also remember asking for money to buy "Sometimes When We Touch" by Dan Hill on 45. Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome also got drilled into the ol' dome.
Justice for Randall Adjessom, Javion Magee, Destinii Hope, Kelaia Turner, Dexter Wade and Nakari Campbell

Perhaps Rattus Norvegicus was meant. That’s my favorite of theirs, at any rate.

I feel like I could easily make another top 10 list and there's at least 10 pretty essential records that came out that year that I've never heard or am only vaguely familiar with. Goddamn, imagine a year where you get two full lengths each from the Ramones, Bowie, Iggy, and Cheap Trick!!!

1. Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express
2. Television - Marquee Moon
3. AC/DC - Let There Be Rock
4. Cheap Trick - S/T
5. David Bowie - Low
6. Iggy Pop - The Idiot
7. Wire - Pink Flag
8. Ramones - Leave Home
9. Suicide - S/T
10. Brian Eno - Before and After Science
